Saturday Arvo in the Village, the FOURTH Saturday of the month that is – provided us with another absolute treat, a concert by Tallowood Bush Band, or as they refer to themselves, “A bunch of old Aussie Musos making a noise”.
Googs, Mike G., Barry and Mike P. as absolute masters of acoustic instruments including fiddle, mandolin, flute and whistles, guitar, tenor banjo, piano and harmonicas had all toes tapping with their mix of Traditional and Celtic and jigs, hornpipes and reels.
Tallowood are celebrating 40 years since the bad was formed and their emphasis is t preserve the tradition of the Australian family bush dance. They certainly brought back wonderful memories of dances in community halls and barns and the great fun and enjoyment of days gone by.
Thanks to John and Barbara for their organisation, Frank for compering and all who helped on the door and with afternoon tea. See you next month.
